We are members of the Church of England but we aim to serve the whole community in South Ilford, no matter what denomination or faith. Our worship is in the Catholic style, but we try to do all things in moderation so that visitors who may be of a different tradition will feel at home. We support the ordination of women and are happy to welcome women priests to celebrate the Eucharist.
Our services and music are a mixture of traditional and modern.
The membership of St. Luke’s is multi-ethnic and you are welcome to join us whatever your colour, marital status or sexual orientation.
The church has the following facilities for people with disabilities:
- Easy access for people in wheelchairs or with impaired mobility
- An induction loop for the hard of hearing
- A disabled toilet (in the church hall-next door)
- Large print publications for those with sight difficulties
- With sufficient notice we can also arrange signing for the deaf.
If you are just exploring the Christian faith and are not sure what to do in church, or are coming to St Luke’s for a wedding, baptism or funeral you will find that we have simple to follow service booklets and a separate sheet, which you can take away with you, containing the words of all the hymns, the bible readings and details of what is happening in the parish.
